The management at Leading Edge Glass in Kelowna is constantly seeking out ways to improve things for their customers, and the latest big overhaul was for a new website. On the newly tweaked website, their slogan "we care for you and your glass" stands out. This mission shines through in everything they do. Owner Tyler Fuller and his team even provide courtesy cars and extra detailing touches.

"I have been in the glass business since birth," Tyler says. "My dad worked in the industry, and as a toddler, I would chase around after him in the shop." From these early roots, Tyler moved into glass sales – where he continued to learn the glass industry from the ground up. The key to the company's success, he notes, has been prioritizing the customers' needs from day one. "We put people first, which means we care about your glass like we do our own.”

Automobile Glass Repairs For Any Make or Model

Leading Edge Glass has built up its team of Red Seal-certified Glass Technicians, allowing the shop to take on almost any project. "The most expensive car we had in the shop was a million-dollar, carbon-fibre Porsche," Tyler says. And what is the most unique project that they have tackled? "That would be the Compacter at the dump", he says with a chuckle. The glass for that windscreen was an inch thick, weighing a colossal 450 lb.

Hot rods, as old as Model-Ts, have also been in, including the Leading Edge’s shop truck, lovingly referred to as the ‘milk van’– a community promotional truck you will likely see around town. "If you happen to see it," Tyler says, "Stop by and say hi. They probably have some swag inside to hand out."

Leading Edge Glass never stops striving to be the best – proven by their latest status as an ADAS re-calibration facility. That designation means it can look after your vehicle's camera, radar, or computer imaging software needs.

Residential Glass Projects Of All Types

Tyler has built up a full-service glass business — automotive and residential. He is quick to point out that residential glass is important. When asked what types of residential glass they handle, his answer is simple: "all of it." From heat-reflecting, Low-E windows right through to patio glass panes and glass for tabletops, Leading Edge Glass can handle it. They even make screens — custom made and custom fit.

The shop has a large footprint, allowing them to take on a wide range of work. Small and large, they have seen it all come through. Combined with a lifetime of experience in the industry, Tyler has seen pretty much everything.

Repairing Chips Early Can Save Your Windscreen – And It Is Free!

Even though replacing glass is the company's bread and butter, repairing chips in windscreens is also something they do well. With a success rate over 90%, chips can be repaired in as little as 15 minutes. You shouldn't wait to get those chips fixed, though. The sooner it's caught, the better.

Many people don't know that having windscreen chips fixed is almost always free. Most insurance companies (ICBC included) cover chip repairs with a zero–deductible. Unlimited chip repairs are offered under most auto policies without impacting insurance rates. Chances are good that if you have a pesky chip in you windscreen, a professional shop like Leading Edge can get you back on the road fast – without costly windscreen replacements.

Using a quality shop like Leading Edge Glass is essential for another reason. Damage can happen if replacement work is not first-rate, leading to costly repairs due to metal rusting. "Don't go with the cheapest quote — unless it's me," Tyler says. With their very competitive pricing, Leading Edge Glass will probably be the best quote that you find.

The awards Leading Edge Glass has been collecting also speaks to their quality of work. Community Votes 2023 ‘Gold’ is one such award. When he was told that they won, Tyler – true to his community spirit – immediately took to social media to congratulate the other winners. This year, the team is one of 88 finalists for Business Excellence, and while the final results are not in yet, Tyler and his team are proud to be in the running.
