Nighthawk Vineyards offers a gourmet breakfast experience to guests, served in their luxury tent house accommodations.

When your boutique winery has consistently won awards for the best outdoor dining experience in BC, but you want to take things to the next level, what do you do? Offer luxury tent house accommodations and gourmet breakfast! That was the solution Daniel and Christy Bibby, owners of Nighthawk Vineyards, came up with.

Our goal was to share the signature experiences that the vineyard could offer, Daniel says, and the unbelievable sunrises over the valley just had to be included. “There is really nothing like the sunrises that we see here,” Bibby added. “The vineyard is a very special place at that time of day.” Taking in the stunning beauty of the boutique vineyard’s surroundings, it is easy to understand what he means. Watching the sun’s rays bathe the rows of wine grapes spilling away from the luxury tents, one can really imagine the peace and tranquillity of the mornings at Nighthawk Vineyards.

The eco-accommodations are equally magnificent, and the term ‘tent’ is a very misleading one. Sure, there is a canvas roof, but that is where the similarities end. The eco-homes nestled into the hillside have king-sized beds, curated local artwork, hardwood floors, love seats and full washroom amenities – including a rain shower and soaker tub on the deck. The intimate setting showcases the views of this 60-acre property of vineyard and woodland, with Green Lake shimmering below.

The breakfast on offer is tailored to pair with the location, as award-winning chef Carson Bibby (Daniel and Christy's son, as it is a family-run operation, after all) has crafted a menu that spotlights the local area. Honey Crisp apple juice squeezed at Woodgate farms, French-press coffee from Kelowna’s Giobean coffee roasters, house-baked croissants, and homemade preserves all feature in the gourmet breakfasts. Combining locally sourced products – such as teas from Penticton’s Teas & Weaves Tea Company – brings the flavours of the Okanagan together with the sunrise.

Guests staying in the luxury tent houses at Nighthawk Vineyards also have the option of an exclusive chef’s table dinner in the evening, either inside the wine shop or outside on the scenic patio overlooking the vineyard. The menu is thoughtfully built around a wood-fire oven using cherry wood from the orchards in Oliver, and features ingredients that are locally sourced, grown on-site or foraged. Paired with their estate wines, the experience is like no other. By visiting Nighthawk, guests gain the ability to purchase wines available only at the vineyard, such as their Blanc-de-Noir (a white wine pressed from Pinot Noir, with no skin contact and aged in neutral French oak barrels), or their traditional method sparkling “Lux de Vinea” (Latin for light of the vineyard).

To experience the winery, luxury accommodations, patio dining – and of course sunrises – guests can book online at the Nighthawk Vineyards website, or call the vineyard directly for information on the services offered.
