All candidates debate scheduled ahead of Vernon byelection

An all-candidates debate is taking place ahead of the upcoming City of Vernon byelection.

The all-candidates debate is being held at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Nov. 10, between 7 and 9 p.m. Members of the public will be able to attend virtually.

The event will be facilitated by Jon Corbett and has been organized by the Sustainable Environment Network Society and Climate Action Now.

The event will be live-streamed on the Sustainable Environment Network Society Facebook page and members of the audience can ask questions via the website.

However, the Sustainable Environment Network Society is encouraging the public to submit questions in advance through its web page. The organization asks for short, climate and environmental, or sustainability-related questions before Nov. 8. Questions should include a note to which candidate or candidates the question is to be directed.

Eleven candidates have put their names in the hat for the seat left by the passing of Dalvir Nahal. The names are: Kevin Demers, Teresa Durning, Flora Evans, Sherrilee Franks, Arthur Gourley, Stephanie Hendy, Catherine Lord, Jamie Morrow, Erik Olesen, Ed Stranks and Andy Wylie.

Advanced voting takes place Nov. 24, 25 and 27, as well Dec. 1 and 2. ahead of the Dec. 4 byelection.

To submit a question to the Sustainable Environment Network Society go here.
