Astrophysical observatory near Penticton holds annual open house

Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory's latest project is CHIME.The observatory is holding its annual open house this Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019.

PENTICTON - This weekend presents an out of this world opportunity to find out more about the latest in radio astronomy techniques being used to map the galaxy and understand the universe.

The Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory is holding its 2019 open house on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the National Research Council facility located at 717 White Lake Rd. in Kaleden.

Join the observatory as they celebrate years of discovery and innovation in radio astronomy at one of the Okanagan’s most unique institutions.

Admission is free to the event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are science activities and fun things for kids to do, technical demonstrations, astronomy lectures, tours and more.
