Man struck and killed by a train in Shuswap

SALMON ARM - A man has died after he was hit by a train north of Salmon Arm last weekend.

RCMP say officer were called to the incident around 8 p.m. Saturday, July 7 where a pedestrian had been struck by a train approximately two kilometres east of the intersection of Tappen Beach Road and the rail lines. 

He died from his injuries.

Police have not released the victim's identity, but say he was an adult male.

RCMP say the death is not suspicious and the investigation has been handed over to the B.C. Coroners Service and CP Rail.
