KELOWNA – A memorial service will be held tomorrow morning for a Kelowna court judge who died suddenly last month.

Judge Anne Wallace, 61, suffered a brain hemorrhage on when on Oct. 27, which put her into a coma.

Flags at all district courthouses were at half staff for a full week, and a friend and fellow judge described her as “the heart of the chambers.”

“She was just a whirlwind,” Cartwright says. “You knew when she was in the building because she was louder than most and very chatty and always doing something and laughing. She was passionate about everything she did.”

She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Russ Impett, daughters Katie and Lauren, sisters Sheila, Cathy and Julie, and brother David.

The service takes place at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at Trinity Baptist Church on Springfield.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Kelowna, Young Life Victoria or Covenant House.

Condolences may be left for the family at the Springfield Funeral Home website.
