VERNON - Another film shoot is already two days along in the Okanagan, bringing stars and crew to locations in Vernon and Lumby for the next 16 days.

“We are very pleased to have the second film of the year being shot in the second month of the year," Okanagan Film Commission spokesperson Jon Summerland said in a media release. "This is setting up 2015 to be significant in terms of productions filming in the Okanagan, and is very good for the businesses that filming supports in the region.”

Numb is a feature thriller about a couple with financial troubles who find a map to a treasure of stolen gold. They soon discover they won't reach their goal unless they partner with a pair of mysterious hitchhikers before heading into a remote winter wilderness to recover the coins. The film stars Jamie Bamber of Battlestar Galactica and Law and Order UK; Marie Avgeropolous of Tracers and The 100; Aleks Panuovic of iZombie and This Means War; and Stefanie von Pfetten of Cracked.

Writer Andre Harden was able to develop the Numb screenplay when he earned the support of the Praxis Centre for Screenwriters by winning their screenplay competition, according to the release.

The movie is produced by Canadian Film Centre alumnus Dylan Jenkinson and Robyn Weiner of Black Fly, Lawrence & Holloman. It's executive produced by Nicholas Tabarrok of The Art of Steal and Defendor. Other credits include award-winning cinematographer Jan Kiesser known for work on Fright Night, The Thaw and Fido; production designer Paul McCulloch who worked on Black Fly, Grave Encounters 1 and 2 and editor Rob Neilson of 3 Days in Havana and The Thaw.

Rounding out the cast are Paul McGillion of Stargate: Atlantis, Gina Chiarella of See Grace Fly and Colin Cunningham of Falling Skies.
