Oliver emergency room closed overnight Friday

OLIVER - Hopefully residents of Oliver and Osoyoos don’t have an emergency Friday night, since the South Okanagan General Hospital emergency department won’t be open.

Due to a “limited physician availability” the emergency department will be closed between 6 p.m. on Friday, June 16 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, according to a press release from the Interior Health Authority. It will be open all other hours.

If you do have an emergency in the area, the Health Authority suggests the Penticton Regional Hospital emergency department or calling HealthLine B.C. at 8-1-1.

The Health Authority says it’s working to rectify the problem.
