A 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds was found dead by Oliver RCMP officers.
Police were called to a vineyard on Ryegrass Road on July 19, according to a release from the Oliver RCMP, where it was confirmed that a man was shot and killed.
The suspect fled the scene before police showed up, but officers located him at his residence later in the day and made an arrest.
Oliver resident Pedro Murillo remains in custody and he has been charged with second degree murder.
“Investigators ask for anyone who was in the area of Ryegrass Road in the afternoon of July 19, 2023, and saw anything of note, or who has video in the area, to please contact them,” the release says.
Police say there is no risk to the public.
