Tk'emlúps office trailer fire being investigated as an arson

A fire at a mobile office trailer in Kamloops more than two weeks ago is being investigated as an arson. RCMP have released an image of the arson suspect.

A fire at a mobile office trailer at Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc more than two weeks ago is being investigated as an arson.

The fire at the trailer at Talasa Way and Sun Rivers Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m., June 5, is being investigated as an arson by Kamloops RCMP.

Officers and a police dog were called to the scene of the fire, according to an RCMP media release issued today, June 20.

“At the time of the fire, witnesses reported a suspect running from the scene,” Kamloops RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

Investigators are distributing an image of the suspect taken from security video in the hope someone recognizes him.

RCMP describe the suspect as a male with tanned skin, 6’ tall with a slender build. He was wearing blue jeans, a red long sleeve shirt and a cap.

Anyone with information that could be related to this ongoing investigation is asked to Kamloops RCMP at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2024-17229.
