A traffic stop in Lake Country led to the arrest of three suspects for possession of a controlled substance.

Lake Country RCMP officers pulled over a vehicle that had committed a Motor Vehicle Act infraction on Carrs Landing Road and near Okanagan Center Road East at around 6 p.m. Monday, March 4, according to an RCMP news release.

As the officer approached the vehicle to inform the driver why they had been pulled over, drug paraphernalia and suspected drugs were observed within the vehicle.

The driver along with two passengers were then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

The officer searched the suspects and the vehicle, and found approximately 18 grams of suspected fentanyl, 48 grams of suspected methamphetamine, prescription pills, several thousand Canadian dollars, a digital scale and other paraphernalia.

The suspects were released from custody at the scene as the investigation continues.
